To SEO professionals! A set of doubts and questions!

Hi I am Rupert, Me and my brothers were decided to launch a content website next month. Already we have two content website portals. But these websites are not producing much revenue to us, as we don't know how to optimize it! My set of questions to SEO professionals are, How can we optimize a site in a easy way? Which type of website will yield much revenue? What's the rank and position of your website? How you have optimized you site? Is it simple or not? What are all the precautions we should bear in mind before starting a content website?

First your questions are a little too vague, first my question for the 2 sites you and your brother have already created, have you studied how to use title , keyword, and description tags. Have you made your sites with clean html the cleaner the better, and how focused our your sites how original is your content, what are you doing to promote these sites. this would help me and others give you our opinion, I believe that if your current 2 sites have well written ORIGINAL and FOCUSED content that you should really dedicate more time to getting links to your site from other sites so that search engines will start picking up your content.



Here are a few items that help in SEO

Focused Sites
Keywords in domain
Keywords in Page for example www.yoursite.com/keywords.html
Correct use of tags
Error free Pages
Fast loading pages
pages shouldn't be to big 127kbs is big but not to big for a page
GET LINKS TO THE SITE FROM OTHER SITES OF RELATED SUBJECT
submit your site to directories that have your subject perferably ones that have some decent PR
don't over saturate your keywords in your pages but make sure to use them a few times and use correct <h1> <b> <strong> tags
set up a site map and link to your pages from your own site and with in your content

Give it time sites don't usually get picked up and hardley ever get high ranks at the beginning it takes time patient and alot of hard work

Then why I not getting much revenue out of this!

If your sites are clean they are optimized for the search engines they are not on search engine blacklist . your content is original and you do steady updates get some good links back to your site and structure your site for the spiders so your content becomes spider food it can take some time but if you keep working you will see results . As the internet gets bigger and there are more sites blogs ect... in the industry or niche that your site covers the harder it gets to get recognized or to get the top search's on the search engines. but with hard work, Original Cleanly Writen Content, Link Backs That relate to your content or site from other sites that have some authority ( the more the better ) , Optimized Pages and Site Structure, Continuous Updates . You will see results sooner or latter the great sites and money makers all follow these rules and they don't give up.

One thing I forgot to say it takes time sometimes it is fast but most the time and especially if the search terms you are going after are in high demand it can take literally years and if they are really really popular you may never get listed even in the top 100 or 500 or 1000 for that matter and usually if your not in the top 10-20 you won't get much traffic anyways I would suggest looking at the popularity of the keywords that you are going after if they are popular try starting out with some less popular keywords or phrases
